Happy New Year from Babes Around Denver!

First Friday is THIS week due to the New Year Holiday. DJ Trina J spins in the BIG room all night with music for everyone. She will get the party goin with early CW then rewind to 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. As the night goes on, we will step it up with Top 40 dance, Hip-Hop and more. Huge dance floor all night. First Friday attendance was more than 20,000 during 2009 and it’s still the largest monthly women’s dance party in the US.

Babes Around Denver has receved  urgent request for assistance and we are reaching out to our community to request donations to the Family Crisis Center.  Many of these kids will be spending the holidays at the crisis center and many do not have any family support. You can drop off donations at

To carry on BAD’s mission of assisting charities that support women and children’s issues, we are pleased to make our third quarter 2009 donation to  the Women’s Bean Project.

Since 1989, the Women’s Bean Project has been dedicated to helping women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment by providing opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency through social enterprise.

BAD’s contribution of  $1000.00 will support Women’s Bean Project programs and services that help women begin their journeys toward independence.

“Nectar” continues next Saturday at the b.side Lounge. More than 200 women came in August and word is out that this is THE party in Boulder. Two rooms, 3 DJ’s and dancing all night. DJ Sandra starts at 6 with CW and line dance lessons until 6:30. As the night goes on, we step up the music and DJ Tori Simone spins Top 40, Hip-Hop and house music for the rest of the night. Food and drink specials until 11PM and DJ Zonobo will keep the front room hopping. Cover $5. All LGBT and straight allies welcome.

If you not yet registered for Venus de Miles and plan to, be sure to sign up for the Venus de Miles by tonight at midnight if you want to be able to pick your packet up before the ride. You’ll avoid long lines at day of packet pick up by doing so.

As a reminder, we’re also capping the ride this year at 1,500 (and we’re nearly at 1,000, so the last 500 spots will go quickly). Be sure to sign up right away so you don’t miss out on the fun! The Babes Around Denver bike jerseys are in and they are cool. We only have about 15 left so let Dede Frain know if you want to purchase one. Babes Around Denver and the b.side Lounge present “Nectar”, Boulder’s hot new women’s party next Saturday night August 15th at the b.side Lounge . Two rooms, 3 DJ’s with headliner DJ Tori Simone and DJ’s Sandra and Kulio.  Dancing all night with music for everyone. Doors open at 6 with early CW dancing followed by 80’s, Top 40, hip hop and more. First 50 people in free. $3 Kamikaze’s and $4 Sweet Beat Drops. This WILL be the HOT party in Boulder

Pride may be over but you can keep the party goin at First Friday this week.  Kick start the holiday weekend with 1500 hot women. DJ Shannon will rock country and then spin 80’s in Heaven Lounge. DJ Markie will mix it up in the main room with Top 40 Dance, House and more.  The patio and grill will be open all night. Doors open at 6PM Cover only $5- Denver’s best entertainment value. Tracks is Denver’s largest LGBT club with the best lights and sound in the city

Friday 06-26-09

Join Babes Around Denver for the biggest and best Women’s Party this Pride Season.  Special performance by God-des and She, aerial dance, laser light show, dancing and entertainment by Avelon and more.  More than 1500 women will be there – huge dance floor,  120,000 watts of sound and lights. Pretty in Pink Party – the official kick off of the infamous Boa Project (an attempt to break the world record for the longest feather boa – 1.14 Miles – in the Denver Pride parade on June 28th). The project supports The Alexander Foundation and the party will be held at SPIRE (14th and Champa) on Friday May 29th. Individuals and groups may donate to the cause by purchasing Boa sections.
