Babes Around Denver

Buy…Sell…Recycle! It is a fantastic celebration of everything in the world of bicycling. VeloSwap features new and used bicycles and equipment, cycling and sports clinics, family events, cycling celebrities, product sampling, an all-new EcoVillage, and much, much more.

Reaching over 10,000 people, VeloSwap tunes into energy consciousness and recycling for this year’s upcoming October event. Organizers will incorporate an EcoVillage into the show to capture and promote the underlying current of VeloSwap, recycling and bicycling energy efficiency!

The Venus de Miles Ride may be over but Babes Around Denver helped make a difference. Dozens of Babes joined the ride and many bought jerseys. Thanks to our sponsors – we were able to donate $750 to Greenhouse Scholars for college scholarships. The kids who are getting the scholarships staffed the first rest stop and it was great having the opportunity to meet them. Thanks to all of you for the support and to Svedka Vodka, Tracks/EXDO, Wash Perk and Dazzle. The Venus is sure to become one of the nation’s premier cycling events for women and BAD is thrilled to be part of it. How bout the chocolate truffles at rest stop #2?!

If you not yet registered for Venus de Miles and plan to, be sure to sign up for the Venus de Miles by tonight at midnight if you want to be able to pick your packet up before the ride. You’ll avoid long lines at day of packet pick up by doing so.

As a reminder, we’re also capping the ride this year at 1,500 (and we’re nearly at 1,000, so the last 500 spots will go quickly). Be sure to sign up right away so you don’t miss out on the fun! The Babes Around Denver bike jerseys are in and they are cool. We only have about 15 left so let Dede Frain know if you want to purchase one. It’s a RIDE NOT A RACE so you can join us if you can ride a bike. The Venus will be held on August 30th in Longmont and registration is still open. It’s a fabulous all women event  that’s empowering (all women), rewarding ( supports Greenhouse Scholars) and  FUN (beer, wine, festival, music). What’s better than that?! Join Babes Around Denver for a coffee social and meetup at one of Denver’s best neighborhood and lesbian owned coffee shops – Wash Perk conveniently located near Washington Park at Ohio and Emerson. Come mingle with us to check out the BAD bike group and the upcoming  All Womens  Bike Ride – The Venus de Miles on Sunday August 3oth. If you can ride a bike you can join us – it’s a ride NOT a race and it’s all about women. Even if you don’t ride, meet us for coffee and socializing.
